CORPUS AIR IS A RESIDENCY FOR CIRCUS ARTISTS, VISUAL ARTISTS (PAINTERS, ILLUSTRATORS), WRITERS, DANCERS, AND OTHER CREATORS WHO WISH TO DEVELOP THEIR POETIC EXPRESSIONS THROUGH CLOSE CONTACT WITH BRAZILIAN NATURE, THE SEA, LAGOONS, AND THE LOCAL COMMUNITY. WE OFFER RESIDENCIES FOR CREATORS IN CONTEMPORARY ARTS, CIRCUS ARTS, VISUAL ARTS, DANCE, LAND ART, THEATRE, PUPPETRY, PHOTOGRAPHY, MUSIC, LITERATURE, DESIGN, FASHION, AND CINEMA.

NATURE IS EVER-PRESENT IN AIR CORPUS. WE BELIEVE THAT IMMERSION IN NATURE SHARPENS THE SENSES AND THE CREATIVE PROCESS, WHILE THE EXPERIENCE ABROAD LEADS RESIDENTS TO NEW DISCOVERIES ABOUT THEMSELVES AND THEIR ARTISTIC PRACTICE. CORPUS AiR – ARTISTIC RESIDENCY

Artists can use the space to focus on individual development through rehearsals, creations, and productions. Throughout the residency, participants can rely on the curatorship of Corpus Acrobatics’ founders and artistic directors, who offer guidance in direction, choreography, and creative development, or act as mentors (‘third eye’) for works in progress.

Artists determine the dates and duration of their stay (up to 30 days, with a maximum of 4 participants). There is no full-time curatorial mediation, but residents may consult curators when needed. Artists are responsible for their own projects and activities.

The environment fosters deep connections between people and nature, encouraging an organic flow of ideas and exchanges. Corpus is part of the Res Artis platform, a global network connecting artists in over 80 countries.

Final results may be shared in a presentation to the local community.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

This is a program where the artist chooses the date and length of their residency (maximum 30 days). In this format, the planned program must be chosen by the participants (maximum group of 4 people). There is no full-time mediation by curators, but the artist(s) may contact the curator for various necessary information. The artist(s) will be responsible for their own activities and projects.

WHAT WE OFFER AT AIR

A space for individual and collective development for rehearsals, choreographic or theatrical creations, visual arts (drawing or painting), yoga, acro yoga, dance, etc. Artistic consulting from the founders and directors of Corpus Acrobatics for direction, choreography, creation of acts or acrobatic scripts and dance, as well as advisory support (“third eye”) for creations that are in the development process.

A SPACE FOR CREATION, TRAINING, AND CULTURAL EXCHANGE, INTEGRATED WITH THE EXUBERANT NATURE OF THE SANTA CATARINA COAST.

STUDIO

The studio is surrounded by a lush garden filled with greenery, flowers, and birds. It measures 48m² (8 x 6 m),

with a 7.5 m ceiling and wooden floor, featuring secure anchor points for aerial practices and ample natural light.

RESIDENCE / ACCOMMODATION

The residence accommodates up to 4 people: one private room with a double bed and one shared room with two single beds. Groups larger than 4 may stay at nearby guesthouses.

Residents can relax and prepare meals in the open-plan kitchen and living area, with a semi-open deck. The shared bathroom overlooks the garden.

Residents also have access to a glass office among the treetops—an inspiring space for literary creation. Access is private and independent, reserved exclusively for participants of the AiR programme. Minimum stay: 3 days. Maximum: 30 days.

Meals, cultural activities, special tours, travel expenses, transfers, and health insurance are not included.

LOCATION

Located near the Ibiraquera Lagoon (around 100 m) and approximately 5 km from Luz and Rosa beaches.

The area is ideal for water sports such as swimming, surfing, kite surfing, and canoeing, as well as walking and cycling trails. Close to supermarkets, pharmacies, bars, bakeries, and the Rosa Beach town centre.
